FORMER INTERIM RIZZUTO BOSS, ANDREW SCOPPA, WAS A RAT.

While it doesn't come to any shock to me, over the last few years there have been over a dozen mob hits in Canada.   One of those killed, was Andrew Scoppa, who at the time of his death was the interim boss of the Rizzuto crime family.  Not only was Scoppa killed but his brother was as well, in at the time what was being called a power struggle.  Turns out, it's wasn't a power struggle, but the fact that those in his circle believe he was an informant.  Turns out, they were right.

As early as 2014 Scoppa was providing information not only to law enforcement and the Canadian version of the F.B.I., but was also tipping off Felix Seguin, who was a journalist.  One of the concerns amongst his cronies what that everyone was getting arrested and or indicted, and they began to fear because Scoppa wasn't picked up, that he was in fact the rat in the circle.  The suspicion was founded, and they were correct in their assumption.

On October 21, 2019, they hit Salvatore Scoppa killing him.  To further push the point, and to control possible retribution they would whack his brother Andrew Scoppa on May 4, 2019 while he was attending a wedding reception in Laval, Quebec.

We now know, that operation MAGOT, that the source was Andrew Scoppa.   If it's worth saying, the Canadian Calabrian faction doesn't play around when they suspect your a rat.  It's almost a throw back to the 1980's in New York City, or the 90's in South Philadelphia.  While Canada is still very much like the wild wild west, they are truly a throwback to a time that's passed New York City.
