MICHAEL FRANZESE WAS A RAT, DON'T GET IT TWISTED

Why on earth people refuse to claim that Michael Franzese wasn't a rat is beyond me. The facts are there, but people are clutching to his "Conversion to Christ," so badly that they looked past what Michael did.
I have never had any respect for Michael Franzese, and never will. Call him a snitch, or a dry snitch is exactly what he is. The last few days we have been inundated with threats,and complaints that Michael was "NEVER" an informant.
For those that know, Michael Franzese is the adopted son of Sonny Franzese, longtime mob tougguy and stone cold wiseguy. Michael was known as the "yuppie-don," for his ability to make millions in a gas tax scheme, that brought so much money to the mafia, that regardless he will go down in history as one of the biggest earners the mob has ever seen.
The problem is, he's another "former" wiseguy that claims two things all wiseguys seem to claim when they leave the life.
1. I didn't inform or rat.
2. I left the life.
In Franzese's case, he left the life sure, but for a bigger racket in using "Christian Charasmatic," as his tool of the trade. Not to throw salt at the demon so to speak, but maybe Franzese's conversion is true, maybe it's not, but the truth is, he is making a killing with his "Gansgter to God," speech format. I personally don't buy it, but it is what it is. These guys always find a way to earn.
If you listen to him for any length of time, he brags about knowing John Gotti. Lie number one. Not only did he not know John Gotti, but he somehow boasts about besting John in a hand of poker. In all seriousness, it's a complete fabrication. These guys all do the same thing. They get on discovery or some mob television show and make these claims that attach them to the one name that sells. GOTTI.
FACTS
1. Michael Franzese signed a cooperation deal May 18,1989 with the Federal Government which compelled him to testify in criminal cases through April of 1990.
2. He was released from prison for signing that cooperation agreement.
3. He cooperated against his "Uncle" Norby Walters, whom was a racketeer in Chicago, and someone that was Michael's close friend. Michael testified that Norby Walters had extorted the Jackson Five. Michael had flown to Los Angeles to ensure that Walters could keep a firm grip on the Jackson Five, as Rob Wiesner(then Jacksons Co Mgmt) was bucking. It came down to dollars and Franzese wanted to ensure Norby got his end. "Without Norby (he told Wiesner) there would be no tour."
4. Walters was convicted on Franzese testimony, and did a five year stretch for racketeering.
5. Franzese snitched out a janitor that worked for his father former driver, Ornge Tutt.
6. Franzese gave the FBI names of inducted members in different families.
7. His own father put a contract on his head
Given those seven instances, how can anyone say that Michael Franzese is not an informant? Does he have to testify against a mob guy to be an informant and snitch? How did Michael pay a fine and still keep the majority of his money? How else, did Franzese get out of jail? He signed a cooperation agreement. No matter how you slice it, the guy is a snitch, and a rat.
If we go by the street definition of a rat, it's someone who tells on someone else for any sort of gain, cares nothing about friendship, and uses that information to make there situation better and that's exactly what Franzese has done. Just because he didn't inform on his own father or John Gotti or someone higher up doesn't make him any less of a snitch. So whether it's some mob capo or his friend Norby Walter, Franzese is a snitch. No other way around it.
Franzese can spin it anyway he wants and try to distance himself from Henry Hill, and yes, there is a difference, but since when does someone who does what both men do, get considered less of a rat then the next? A rat is a rat is a rat.
