BUSHAWN SHELTON, ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH ZOTTOLA HIT

Early Thursday morning police arrested Bushawn Shelton, in Brooklyn, in connection with the murder of Sylvester Zottola.  Police have announced that not only was Shelton involved in the murder of Sylvester Zottola, but also was involved in the shooting of Sylvester's son Salvatore Zottola.

Wiretaps and recorded calls have Shelton conspiring to kill Sylvester, his son and that Shelton's car was parked nearby the home of Zottola twenty some times in the months before Zottola's death.  Court records which have been semi-sealed, but confirm that while Shelton may not have been the shooter in these two crimes, he defintely  played a key role in both shootings.  It's alleged he paid an associate cash, and provided the weapons used in both incidents.

Investigators also confirmed that Shelton did pay an associate to kill Salvatore Zottola, as an indepth plot to lure Sylvester Zottola out into the open.  The hit on Salvatore was a failure. The associate involved in this, have become an informant, and has offered his testimony in return for a light sentence in what the police are calling "murder for hire."   Shelton was arrested in a raid at 4 am in Brooklyn.  A search warrant was executed and police uncovered $45,000 in cash and weapons. Prosecutor Lindsay Gerdes stated that Shelton received the money after the murder, which may lay claim to someone else possibly wanting Zottola dead.  Shelton allegedly is a high ranking member of the BLOODS.

Shelton is due in court this week for a bail hearing, and arraignment.     As I said, I didn't believe this to be a mob hit, and more related to a narcotics type of situation and it appears I was right.
Worth noting that rumor has it the Albanians hired Shelton because they wanted to make inroads into the joker poker machine business.
